The age-appropriate Curriculum includes chord strumming, string picking, and rhythmic playing.
In the Guitar Classes, students learn the fundamentals of understanding music through popular songs and hands-on experience playing the guitar.
Gain the knowledge they need to perform their favorite pop, rock, and folk songs. They will also gain the strongest of foundations to lead the way for further musical exploration.
Class time always incorporates musical games, focused practice, and ensemble work to play songs together as a group.
With open chord tuning and four strings, the Ukulele classes are accessible and fun for all new K-1 students.
Students learn chords, rhythm, songs, and melodies. Games and activities are a regular part of the class.
Students learn a little bit at a time, then practice it at speed until they are comfortable with it, and then move on.
Club Jam is an introductory music course for grades K – 1 or 2-5.
Students participate in simple and engaging music games and activities.
They get an introduction to the rhythm, clap and play with percussive beats. This is a FUN class that builds a musical foundation to sharpen student’s minds (Fusing creative and analytical thought development) paving the way for further academic study whether it be music or not. (Hand drums and percussive instruments are provided)

Christopher has been teaching guitar classes and private lessons in the east bay for ten years and counting. Playing bass and guitar in various bands with various styles for over a decade, he realized his passion for music long ago and ended up receiving his BA in Music Performance. In addition to performing, teaching has become a new passion for him. With a mix of classic and modern hits, Christopher forms a set of songs his students perform in a concert at the end of each session.
Aharon enjoys an international career as a professional performer on drums, tabla, middle eastern percussion, kalimbas, flutes and many other instruments. He holds a BA in World Music and Comparative Literature (French). He has performed and studied with masters in India, Turkey, Brazil, Bali, Japan, Mali, Burkina Faso, the Balkans, and throughout Northern Europe and North America. He also teaches and performs body percussion, vocal rhythm and improvisation.
Having a founded love for cultural arts, he became a professional dancer and performer in Mexican Ballet Folklorico Ixcuintla, participating in a prominent city, televised and annual events.
While studying at SFSU in the field of Sociology, he began a career in youth advocacy and development, working in summer camps, group homes, and Afterschool programs. Exposure to San Francisco counterculture and arts scene, he found himself in collaboration with music artists in vasts of genres including the blues, jazz, son Cubano, son Jarocho, hip-hop and rock.
